Home Remedies for Bronchitis for Babies
One of the bad things about bronchitis is that there are no specific antibiotics that can treat it. However, there are ways that you can treat the symptoms that your baby may be experiencing. For example, you should keep your baby’s nose clear by using an aspirator. You can also give them saline drops to help keep their nasal passageways clear and to thin mucus.
Talk to your doctor about things that you can do to treat their fever. While acetaminophen is usually the best medication to use, your doctor may give you other instructions instead. You can also give your baby lukewarm baths and apply cool cloths to their body to relieve fever as well.
In order to make sure that they do not become dehydrated you should increase the amount of fluids that your baby is drinking. Ask your doctor about the types of fluids that are best and whether you should switch from milk and formula to clear fluids. Keep in mind that it may be difficult for your baby to breathe so you may find that they are eating slower than normal.
Above all, make sure that your baby is getting the rest that they need to recover. Since their body is fighting off this illness, they will need additional rest to make sure that they are strong enough to do so. Allow your baby to rest as much as possible while they are healing.
