How many Vials of Donor Sperm for IUI
One of the most cost effective procedures that couples can rely on when they are trying to conceive is IUI. With this procedure, sperm is injected into the woman when she is ovulating. Sperm from her partner can be used, but this is not always possible.
For instances when a man’s sperm is not available to use for IUI, the couple can choose to purchase donor sperm instead. This sperm costs between $300 and $700 with an additional $300 spent towards the procedure itself.
While IUI is typically rather successful, it is not always a guarantee that it will work on the first try. For this reason, it may be necessary to purchase more than one vial in order to become pregnant.
In general, women who are under the age of 35 have about a 25% chance of becoming pregnant the first month that she begins trying. Because of this low percentage, it is common for it to take a few months of IUI before a woman is able to conceive
On average, women who purchase donor sperm for IUI typically purchase two or three vials when they make an order. If this sperm is shipped directly to a sperm bank, it is possible that any unused vials could be returned for a refund. However, when they are shipped offsite, this is not an option.
