When we are trying to become pregnant, waiting to take a pregnancy test is stressful. However, it is something that women must do in order to know they are getting the right results. After you have ovulated, there is about two weeks before you should start your normal period. It is important to wait these two weeks before you take a pregnancy test.

Naturally, anxiety can be really high while you are waiting. Luckily, there are things you can do to keep your mind off your possible pregnancy and help you get through the two weeks easily. Make sure you put the following into action for you.

Be Busy

During the two weeks you are waiting to take a pregnancy test, try to stay as busy as possible. Fill your schedule with things that will keep your mind busy and off of your pregnancy. This can help you eliminate the time for worrying about becoming pregnant as well as the time you spend searching for symptoms you may or may not be feeling.

Avoid Looking for Symptoms

Start by trying to avoid looking for pregnancy related symptoms. When you are going through this wait, it is extremely easy to look at everything you are feeling and tie it to pregnancy. In the end, this can actually drive you crazy and make the prospect of not being pregnant even more disappointing.

Keep in mind that many of the symptoms you will pick up early on in a pregnancy are related to hormones. They could also appear during any time, even when you are getting ready to start your period. So, avoid stressing over your symptoms to help you keep peace of mind.

Give yourself a Few Moments Each Day

Naturally, you won’t be able to keep yourself from completely obsessing about the idea of being pregnant. To help with this, schedule some time each day to go through these emotions and think about them carefully. Trying to bottle up all your emotions is never a good idea, and this allows you to get them out on the table.

However, keep in mind that the time you spend focusing on these feelings should be brief. For example, you will not want to spend more than 10 or 15 minutes each day thinking about becoming pregnant. Also, only schedule one of these worry sessions each day so you don’t become overwhelmed with worry and anxiety all day.

These are a few of the things you can do to eliminate the worry and anxiety you feel during the two weeks when you are waiting to take a pregnancy test. While they may seem minor, they are actually very helpful. Before you know it, you will be ready to take your pregnancy test to determine if all your hard work has paid off.
