Home Remedies for Gas Pain in Toddlers
Having an excess of gas is something that can be painful for adults as well as children. However, with children, it can be more difficult for them to deal with because they lack the ability to understand why they are in pain. For this reason, it is important that parents can recognize the signs of gas pain and have some home remedies to help relieve it.
The first thing that parents need to do is to increase the amount of water that the toddler is drinking. It is also a good idea to increase other healthy fluids as well. Apple juice is another drink that has been shown to help relieve gas pain.
It is also important that toddlers are consuming the right amount of fiber on a daily basis also. Some of the best foods that can help relieve gas pain are spinach, nectarines, sweet potatoes, peas and peaches.
There are also some foods that can cause excessive amounts of gas and parents should avoid feeding them to their children. Along with staying away from foods that are high in sugar and fat, toddlers should not consume celery, carrots, cauliflower and cabbage when they are struggling with gas.
These simple remedies are just a few of the ways that parents can help their toddlers deal with pain in relation to gas. Your doctor may also be able to suggest alternate methods as well.
